Karin Lykke-Hartmann

Senior groupleader

Karin Lykke-Hartmann is senior groupleader at the PUMPkin Centre, and employed as associate professor at the Department of Biomedicine - Medical Biochemistry at Aarhus University.

The research group of Karin Lykke-Hartmann works with functional studies of the Na+.K+-ATPase, focusing on ion pump deficiency. The methods used involve cell culture assays and transgenic modified mouse and zebrafish models. The research group focuses on the two autosomal dominantly inherited neurological diseases: familial hemiplegic migraine type 2 (FHM2) and familial rapid-onset of dystonia-parkinsonism (Familial RDP), which are caused by mutations in the ?2 Na+,K+-ATPase and ?3 Na+,K+-ATPase, respectively.
